Brass Ensemble wows crowd at CAP Expo
Saturday 19th March 2016
On Saturday 19th March, Music For Canberra participated in the annual Connect and Participate (or CAP) Expo, at the Kingston Old Bus Depot Markets. This Expo grows in size each year, and is a fantastic place to engage with all the wonderful different community groups available to participate in within our vibrant and diverse local community.
Our CEO, Kathleen Grant, says: “A special thanks to conductor Zach Raffan and the Brass Ensemble who packed the outside stage with some great repertoire. It was a perfect ensemble for the large venue and Zach and his students professionally held the space well beyond their allotted time (covering for an ensemble that wasn’t quite ready to play) with some really lovely repertoire! Very proud to hear such lovely sounds and confident playing with so much repertoire this early in the year. They certainly commanded the space beyond their tender years which was wonderful to see.”
MFC gives a big thanks also to Kate Firkins, Michelle Forman, Barbara Jerjen and new administrator Skye Gallagher (thrown in the deep end on her first unofficial day on the job!), who worked around the clock at our stall at the Expo. Thanks as well to the parents and volunteers who assisted on the day!
Due to staffing absences we don’t yet have the photos of the day uploaded, but stay up to date with all Music For Canberra’s events and news by following us on Facebook which is where you’ll find the photos once they’re ready.
