Canberra Children's & Youth Choir
Canberra's longest-running choir for children and youth choir have combined
Thursdays 4:30 - 6:30pm
Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017, the Canberra Children’s Choir has merged with the Canberra Youth Choir to form the Canberra Children’s and Youth Choir and we are thrilled to announce the return of eminent Australian Conductor and Composer, and choir founder, Judith Clingan AM.
The Canberra Children’s and Youth Choir, for those aged between 8 and 16 years, aims to achieve a high choral standard, in a flexible and fun learning environment. Choral arrangements are based on a variety of sacred, secular, modern & ancient music in one, two & three part harmony. The Choir provides the opportunity for focused work on personal and group vocal development, including singing, score reading, blend and balance, rhythmic accuracy and vocal technique.
The Choir will perform at member concerts and also enters into local events and competitions such as the National Eisteddfod, and local music & arts festivals including Floriade. Keep up to date with upcoming concerts by regularly checking our Events page or Facebook page!
