Canberra Youth Orchestra 2019 Concert Series
Music For Canberra presents Canberra Youth Orchestra’s 2019 Concert Series. This year the Canberra Youth Orchestra (CYO) will present three concerts at Llewellyn Hall, alongside a performance with our training orchestra, the James McCusker Orchestra in April, and a guest performance at the Canberra International Music Festival in May. Details of each concert are below:
Canberra International Music Festival “Bach for all”
Sunday 12 May 2019, 11.00am
CYO will perform as part of the Canberra International Music Festival. Presenting Bach’s most memorable tunes in a family concert for young and old alongside the premiere of a newly commissioned orchestral work by CYO alumnus Bree van Reyk.

Hear one of the region’s best up-and-coming soloists supported by their peers when the 2019 Concerto Competition Winner performs their chosen concerto with CYO.

Soloist: Christian Li
This concert will feature Christian Li, the youngest ever winner of the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin Violin Competition Junior First Prize, who will perform Max Bruch’s sensational Violin Concerto. With Christian Li already well on the way to becoming an international talent in great demand, don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear his Australian orchestral debut with the Canberra Youth Orchestra.
