James McCusker Orchestra 50th Anniversary Concert
In 2018, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our training orchestra, now known as the James McCusker Orchestra or JMO. The training orchestra was established in 1968 and was named for its founder, James McCusker, in 1978. Today, JMO consists of 37 players, led by conductor, Shilong Ye.
JMO are excited to be celebrating this milestone with a special Anniversary Concert and we invite any JMO alumni to play in the concert alongside the current Orchestra on Friday 30 November.
The Anniversary Concert will feature special guest soloist Kristian Winther. Kristian is a violinist and alumni of the JMO who has appeared as soloist with many of Australia’s symphony orchestras, and as Concertmaster of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, as Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Western Australian and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras.
If you would like to be involved please send through your name, instrument, year/s you played in JMO, and which of the rehearsals you will be available to attend to firstname.lastname@example.org. Practice parts will be available once we have compiled a list of all players. These will be ready for the following rehearsals.
