Spellbinding Lights and Enchanting Orchestral Folk Music

Twilight Tales presented by Music for Canberra and featuring Canberra Youth Orchestra.

As dusk sets on the shores of Lake Ginninderra, we invite you to join us for an evening of immersive storytelling. Twilight Tales, presented by Music for Canberra and featuring Canberra Youth Orchestra, brings together mesmerising light shows with moving musical experiences.

In a first for Canberra’s leading youth orchestra, each piece selected for this concert has been paired with a unique lighting display crafted to suit its tempo, tones and emotions.

Hyde’s Happy Occasion Overture will take you on a spirited and joyful journey. For the second piece, Finsterer’s Lake Ice, offers a deep and meaningful performance with abstract and textured colours designed to dance and take on their own life. Audiences will then be lured back to nostalgic memories of sun-kissed skin as the orchestra commences Sainsbury’s Beach Holiday. After an interval, the finale and finest piece of the concert will commence. Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony is a folky, earthy piece designed to suit the mystic and fairy tale nature of the evening’s theme.
