Jam It bands rocked the Multicultural Festival
Saturday 13th February 2016
In the 2016 January school holidays, talented young musicians aged 11-16 years converged on CIT Woden for Music For Canberra’s “Jam It” school holiday workshop, where they spent the week not only meeting each other for the first time, but forming bands, and work-shopping cover and original material.
Jam It Program Coordinator & tutor, Michelle Foreman, was amazed at the level of talent this year, and was so proud of all bands when they performed twice – not only at CIT Woden on Friday 22nd January, but especially when they played in front of visitors from all around Australia at the National Multicultural Festival, on the Main Stage in Garema Place on Saturday 13th February.
You can check out audio of the 3 talented bands – Manufactured Music, Push Not Pull, and We’re Probably Better Than You – over on Music For Canberra’s Soundcloud page, and check out our Facebook page for photos of both performances!
We will be once again running the popular Jam It program in the upcoming July school holidays – this program fills up very quickly so please contact the office to register your interest for the next workshop, as we operate on a first come, first served (per instrument) basis!
