Kaleidoscope Woodwind Ensemble

A woodwind performance ensemble for adults

Thursdays 6:30 - 7:30pm

Joining an ensemble group is a fantastic way for those who are already taking private lessons to meet like-minded players and hone their skills in a fun and friendly group environment. Our experienced conductors who lead the ensemble groups will encourage you to expand and enrich your musical repertoire.

Our Kaleidoscope woodwind ensemble for adults is a fun and enjoyable way for clarinettists, flautists & oboists to develop their classical ensemble skills after taking lessons and becoming more confident on their instrument (other wind instruments welcome; at least 2 years experience is recommended). Participants are typically also taking private lessons either at Music For Canberra or with a private teacher, but confident players of any background are welcome to join at any time throughout the year.

The group focuses on strong music comprehension, independence of parts and the basics of balance, blend and tuning, all within a fun and relaxed environment.

Music For Canberra believes strongly in the importance of performance in improving the self-confidence and musical ability of students of all ages, and adult Kaleidoscope Ensemble participants who would like to are certainly encouraged to participate in concerts and other community events (but are under no pressure if they don’t wish to).

New participants are encouraged to come along to any of our weekly rehearsals for a free trial to see if Kaleidoscope is right for you – please complete a membership form to attend the next rehearsal of the Kaleidoscope woodwind ensemble.
