Seasoned Voices Choir for adults 55+ years

Non-auditioned community choirs for adults

Tuesdays 10:30am - 12:30pm at Tuggeranong Arts Centre or Fridays 10:30am - 12:30pm at Ainslie Arts Centre

The Seasoned Voices Choir for adults 55+ meets at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre 10:30 – 12:30pm on Tuesdays and Ainslie Arts Centre at 10:30am – 12:30pm on Fridays (including a break for morning tea and socialising!). Both are conducted by Sarahlouise Owens. Please note that you don’t have to attend both Choir rehearsals.

The Seasoned Voices Choir covers a diverse range of musical genres, including folk, pop, jazz, classical and musical theatre. Members of the choir are
actively involved in choosing what they sing throughout the year.

Seasoned Voices was awarded the Age Friendly Canberra award in the 2019 Positive Aging Awards for their active engagement throughout the Canberra community by working to enhance opportunities for seniors to lead full and satisfying lives.

The members of Seasoned Voices are incredibly welcoming, and provide a friendly environment for both singing and socialising when the choir breaks for morning tea at each rehearsal.

Attending both choirs sessions:

If you would like to join both choir rehearsals the fee per term is $120 instead of $70 for each session.

The age bracket is only a guide – please don’t hesitate from getting in touch if you’re younger and would also like to be involved in these fun, socially-inclusive choirs, led by fantastic professional classical & opera singer, and conductor, Sarahlouise Owens.

Music For Canberra believes strongly in the importance of performance in improving the self-confidence and musical ability of students of all ages, and choir participants who would like to are certainly encouraged to participate in our member concert events (but are under no pressure if they don’t wish to).
