Since Louis’ move to Canberra in 2018, he has been welcomed into the local arts organisations to develop and add to the wonderful cultural landscape of the city. With orchestral education a passion of his, Louis is thrilled to be the conductor of the James McCusker Orchestra and part of Music for Canberra. Louis is the conductor of Canberra Opera and was to have made his debut with the National Capital Orchestra in March 2020 (before it was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions). He also performs in the percussion section of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. He is the Assistant Conductor of the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra under Dr Nicholas Milton (Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Canberra Symphony Orchestra) and has assisted at the Australian World Orchestra with Sir Simon Rattle, Stanley Dodds and Alexander Briger whilst undertaking his Masters of Orchestral Conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
