‘Jam It’ bands rock the National Multicultural Festival
Sunday 15th February 2015
Each January & October school holidays, young musicians from across Canberra meet up, form bands and jam together as part of Music For Canberra’s week-long ‘Jam It’ holiday rock band program. Over the course of the week, participants learn about song-writing (this year featured a workshop with Julia Johnson from ‘Julia & the Deep Sea Sirens‘), stage-craft, sound management and live music performance tuition.
This culminates in a performance at the National Multicultural Festival, and this year’s bands – Spotto, Neon Thieves & Breaking The Silence – proved once again how much talent is brewing in Canberra’s young music scene! Their performance on Sunday 15th February at the Route 66 ‘American Experience’ stage had the audience up and clapping along. Check out some of their tracks on our music page!
