Canberra Youth Orchestra

Orchestra playing on large stage

Canberra’s premier youth symphony orchestra.

Contribute to the ongoing musical heritage of the ACT region.

Join the Canberra Youth Orchestra (CYO) and develop your orchestral skills through the exploration of challenging repertoire. Musicians in the CYO perform regularly in an annual program of innovative public concerts and have the opportunity to be conducted and mentored by some of the regions most accomplished professionals.

The CYO invites instrumentalists aged approximately 15-25 years with a minimum AMEB level of Grade 6 or equivalent, to audition. Applications for CYO are open year-round and we encourage you to become part of our vibrant community.

*To ensure the best possible experience, participants are expected to complement their involvement with additional individual instrumental tuition.

**Canberra Youth Orchestra rehearses during the ACT school term and will align as much as possible with the school term schedule. Weekly rehearsal times will not change.
